Elham Khodabandeloo is a Licensed Acupuncturist and a cornerstone of the integrative care team at California Neurohealth. With a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Elham combines ancient healing wisdom with modern clinical applications to help patients overcome chronic pain, neurological disorders, and complex injuries.
Her Clinical Journey & Expertise
Elham’s transition into medicine was driven by a deep-seated belief that the role of a doctor is, at its root, the role of a teacher (docere). After a decade-long career in education, she followed a calling to Chinese Medicine, drawn by its holistic view of the human body as an integrated “garden” that requires balance and specialized care to thrive.
Specialized Clinical Training:
Elham’s background includes rigorous clinical internships and residencies that set her apart in the field of TCM:
- Stroke & Spinal Cord Injury: Completed a residency at California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) in San Francisco, focusing on neurological rehabilitation.
- Complex Immune Care: Served at the Haight Ashbury Free Clinic, treating patients with systemic conditions such as AIDS and Hepatitis.
- Endocrinology & Women’s Health: Completed a specialized residency under the renowned Dr. Lifang Liang, focusing on hormonal balance and fertility.

At California Neurohealth, Elham works in tandem with our functional neurology team. Her approach is characterized by Neurovascular Stimulation—using acupuncture to influence the nervous system and blood flow to accelerate the body’s natural healing response.
