What is California Neurohealth and what do you specialize in?
California Neurohealth is a multidisciplinary clinic in San Luis Obispo, CA, specializing in chronic pain and neurological disorders. The clinic combines Western non-drug/non-surgical methods with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to help patients heal faster, with a special focus on sports and combat-related injuries.
Who are the healthcare providers?
The team includes Dr. Christopher DeMartini, DC, DACNB, a chiropractic neurologist, and Elham Khodabandeloo, L.Ac., a licensed acupuncturist. Both providers evaluate every new patient together to create a unified treatment plan.
What should I expect during my first appointment?
Both providers will evaluate you using specialized tests such as neuropsychological assessments, videonystagmography, posturography, and a full TCM evaluation. From there, they’ll build a personalized treatment plan combining Western and Eastern therapies.
What conditions do you treat?
The clinic treats chronic pain, concussions, headaches, migraines, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, movement disorders, stroke recovery, traumatic brain injuries, ADHD, neuropathy, sprains, strains, arthritis, PTSD, post-concussive syndrome, and more.
What treatments and services are offered?
Services include chiropractic neurology (neuromuscular re-education, vestibular stimulation, adjustments, brain-based rehab) and acupuncture (body and scalp acupuncture, herbal medicine). The clinic also offers supplements through its online store.
How does your combined approach benefit patients?
By integrating chiropractic neurology with TCM, the clinic’s approach can cut healing time roughly in half for sprain/strain injuries and fractures compared to traditional Western methods alone. They’ve also had success treating “non-healing” injuries previously recommended for surgery.
Do you accept insurance, and how do I schedule an appointment?
Yes — insurance, worker’s compensation, and personal injury cases are all accepted. The clinic is an out-of-network provider. Call (805) 439-1581 or request an appointment online. The office is at 1411 Marsh Street, Suite 105, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401, open by appointment most days (closed Tuesdays and Sundays).
